Thursday 11th October 2012

Venue: Arnside

1

Minutes:

No minutes from last meeting

2

Matters arising:

Don would be away; who'd go with James?
Answer: Just Mike; a hotelier's committee meeting

3

The conversation:
Hotel business of course

a

b

4

The Walk:

Round Arnside Knott shoreside, to the (in this week's Westmorland Gazette) infamous caravan park, noted for floor shot phone camera pictures of women in cubicles.

Mike almost gets stuck in quicksand; he was stuck for a while but as he had the camera, no pics, thankfully. James laughed.

It rained. A lot.

5

The Pub:

A bargain lunch for just £8.95 each with some fine beer.

6

Any Other Business:

Come back Don....

I wasn't sure why Mike sent a photo of a NT poster with illegible text about coppicing but then concluded that "Continuing a tradition" was intended to be the title of the report.

However, I exercised editorial discretion!

Comitibus :  The Committee

New beach being constructed at Arnside?

Or is it a car park?

Presumably Mike's very wet feet

I will be in France but would you like to act as convener?

If so, I will send a message to the boys asking them to contact you.

What amazing responsibility you are placing on my slender and weak shoulders!

I've finally made the big time.

Don't come back too soon!
Have a fab time, too.

Don to BOOTboys
Friday 5th October:

James is in charge

Anticipating my absence next week, James has kindly volunteered to take on the “amazing responsibility” that I am placing on his “slender and weak shoulders”.

As he says, he has finally made the big time.

Please let him know if you are available on either Wednesday or Thursday and, if so, any suggestions for destination.

He will also need volunteers to act as scribe and photographer so that I can publish the report before the following week’s event.

Don’t let James down- a massive turnout is required!!

Don

Andrew to Don
5th October

Make sure he has a compass.

Thank goodness I am away!!

Andrew

James to Don
9th October

There seems to be a rebellion as it's going to be nearly Johnny No-mates with only Mike joining me at ten thirty, Strickland pub car park

Looks like you had better come home soon.

Buckling under strain

James

Aftermath

The outing coincided with a hotelier's committee meeting of which the minutes are shown.

Looks as if there was something of a route readjustment as the start point appears to be rather far away from the Strickland Arms!

More like the Ship Inn at Arnside.
