GLW1310
: Loughrigg Tarn and Elterwater Revisited.
10th
November 2013
This
is more or less the same walk as GLW100223
but anti-clockwise this time and in rather different
weather- glorious Autumn rather than frozen Winter.
Whatever the weather, it is a classic short outing.
We
parked very close to Loughrigg Tarn. The air quality
was superb, the Langdales looking particulalry well
defined. The trees were a little past their autumal
peak but still splendid.
It
was heaving outside the Brittania Inn. Was it
the sunshine or the beer festival that brought them
here?
Predictably,
the track from Elterwater to Skelwith Bridge was very
busy but none the less we took the usual photo, sat
on the rocks with the Langdales as the backdrop. Strangely
we didn't uphold the tradition in 2010 but we put that
right today.
