A Gourmet Walk
Thursday
31st March
2021
Little
did we know as we set out that it was to
be a Gourmet BB walk. It was a bright fresh
day. We were invited into John & Trish’s
back garden (looking very good, I must say)
and we were delighted to be offered sausages
with all the accompaniments you could wish
for. Plus barista quality (Trish) coffee.
Perfick start.
Sated,
we set off on what for John is a familiar
walk from his house. It was up and down
dale, with amazing views.....
.....gushing
streams and rivers, a plethora of animals......
......
and a fabulous selection of tractors for
Tony plus a Red Arrows wheelbarrow.
Before
our final climb to the top of the hill with
the phone mast, we stopped by a stream and
ate lunch. Idyllic!
Once
back at the house, once again we were proffered
with refreshments in the form of beer, tea,
coffee, crisps, and hot cross buns. No,
not all of us had everything.
So
great it was to be back out on the fells
with old friends we vowed to do it again.
And John & Terry (in shorts!) said they
must finish off their Wainwrights. Now there’s
a gauntlet if ever I saw one.
